Designing buildings, spaces, worlds, systems, and tools for a complex future.
Why Architecture at UT?听
Here, you鈥檒l be empowered to design your practice. Through drawing, modeling, fabrication, construction, and collaboration, you鈥檒l create spaces that are informed by, and in turn impact societies, natures, and the world. Students here develop deep and lifelong connections within our close-knit community. They also expand their reach through study abroad and service.
Our Approach听
We believe that there鈥檚 not one way to practice architecture, be an architect, or leverage an architecture degree. At the core, the discipline of architecture is rooted in making, but how we make, what we make, and why we make are always evolving. Through experimentation, commitment to process, and open-ended inquiry, we avoid defaults and critique the status quo.
For more than 50 years, students have cultivated skills and honed their practice as they design new ways of drawing, modeling, constructing, and representing the built environment. Our students are passionate authors of rich drawings, 1:1 construction experiments, experimental video games, speculative buildings, and anything in between. 听
