Student Spotlight

Recent Interior Architecture graduate Taylor Odom (BSID ‘17) was the first in her family to go to college. She received a prestigious national Gensler Brinkmann Scholarship and an opportunity to intern with Gensler.

 

Student Stats

  • 100% of students who graduated in Interior Architecture in 2016 had jobs in the field within one month of graduation
  • $283,000 in private scholarships were awarded to 155 students in 2018
  • Students worked more than 1,200 hours on the CNC router and water-jet cutter in the Fab Lab in 2018
  • Students’ projects on the CNC router required more than 241 miles (yes, miles!) of tool linear movement in 2018
  • In 2018, 41 freshman students in Architecture and Interior Architecture were
  • 77% of first-year students in 2017 are women
  • Average GPA of incoming freshmen in 2019 was 4.0.
  • 14% of incoming students are minority students (2018)
  • Enrollment in 2019-2020 is about 700, a 56% increase over 2017-2018 and a 91% increase over 2013-2014.
  • In 2019, Graphic Design joined the college, bringing 100 additional students to our diverse mix.

Our Students at a Glance

Our students hail from 25 states and come from rural areas and urban spaces, large families and small family units, the farm, the city and the ‘burbs. Their high schools were mega, medium and mini. They have diverse cultural experiences and represent many nationalities. We celebrate the uniqueness of each of our students. They are so very different, which makes our college so very amazing.
